Stash Enhancement

A shawl woven on the triange loom:

Today, a quick trip to the LYS got me 3 lbs of undyed yarn: 1 lb brushed mohair, and 2 lbs undyed merino from Henry's Attic. Get the dye pots fired up! I think I'll try dip-dying this time. The mohair will be woven on the triangle loom, and the merino will knit into socks.

The Sunday School class will be happy tomorrow. I have made up a batch of cinnamon rolls for them. They are rising in the fridge tonight, I'll bake them fresh in the am. Of all the "groups" I have worked with, the Sr High kids are my favorite. I've been teaching on Sunday mornings and Wed evenings for about 7 years now. Before that I was always in the elementary depts, but I don't think I'll ever go back to the younger ones.

I still have children in th elementary grades, and in fact we are still homeschooling the youngest: the 3rd grader and the 6th grader. Next year, the 6er will head over the the local middle school and I'll only have ONE child at home. Now that's going to be wild! Think of all the fiber time I'll have! Well, maybe not any more than I have now. Somehow, the idea that as your kids get older they "need you less" has not panned out as true. The job is still just as demanding, it just looks a bit different than it did when they were little.
